More than 100 import filters
|
There are many sources of bibliographic data that can be used to help you build your EndNote database of references. EndNote includes more than 100 customisable import filters for a variety of online and CD-ROM database providers (e.g. Dialog, SilverPlatter). You can create your own import filters as well. Once you've downloaded references in a tagged format, choose the appropriate import filter to import the data into your EndNote database. Note: If you have access to a library catalogue or bibliographic database that supports the Z39.50 protocol, you can use EndNote to search and retrieve references directly into EndNote. This removes the need to learn a separate program to access online databases or go through extra steps of saving the references to a text file and importing them into EndNote. EndNote includes more than 100 connection files to access and search online databases.

Use EndNote on a network
|
EndNote is an ideal bibliographic package for any lab or department that would like to make the EndNote application and its libraries of references available to multiple users simultaneously. Here are some facts you should know about running EndNote on your network:
Users can share EndNote libraries (databases) simultaneously as long as the libraries are set to read-only or locked status.
Multiple users can access the same EndNote library to perform searches, copy references to their documents, and format bibliographies.
Users can maintain an individual Preferences (setting) file locally on their hard drive.
EndNote libraries are compatible across Windows and Macintosh network platforms. This means that Macintosh and Windows EndNote users can access a library over a network simultaneously. There is no conversion necessary!
EndNote can be used in conjunction with license key server software to limit the number of simultaneous users who can access the software at a given time.
